On October 30th, Gumi City, along with the Gumi Defense Venture Center under the Korea Defense Industrial Technology Institute (KDITI), signed a new agreement with 12 SMEs at the Stayder Gongdan Hotel. The goal of this agreement is to foster the development of advanced defense technologies and provide comprehensive support to these small and medium-sized enterprises.

 

The 12 companies that signed the agreement are: Orange Materials, UAM Tech, KDS, Qmis, Ilsung Composite, Pointd, D&E, Ace Innotech, Illu, KNP, HexaHive, and Elaine.

Through this agreement, the Gumi Defense Venture Center will provide customized support, including:

 

  • Funding for defense projects
  • Technical consulting through expert networks
  • Support for acquiring intellectual property rights and certifications
  • Marketing support such as exhibition participation and promotional materials
  • Development product testing and evaluation
  • Networking with the military, related organizations, and other contracted companies nationwide
  •  

Kim Pal-geun, Director of the Advanced Industry Division, stated, "We will continuously strive to strengthen the competitiveness of local SMEs by applying Gumi's specialized defense capabilities to the development of defense projects. The city will provide active support so that the Gumi Defense Venture Center and the contracted companies can become driving forces for regional economic growth."

 

Meanwhile, the 62 contracted companies in Gumi City have achieved sales of 172.7 billion won in the defense sector, accounting for nearly half of their total sales of 3.846 billion won.
